Allen has been involved in theatre as far back as he can remember. He began his professional career as part of the management team of the Victoria Palace Theatre, London. From here he joined The All Electric Puppet Theatre as a performer and puppeteer and it was here that he first met Eddie Nias and the seed of their own company was planted.

Allen had another burning desire, to see the world (or at least a bit of it). He was lucky enough to visit some amazing places and learn new theatrical skills as he went, seeing Kabuki in Japan, and watching some amazing theatre in Australia. Once that was out of his system he was ready to help create The Long Overdue Theatre Company.

For many years he both directed and performed in the shows. In October 2003 his first son, Thomas, was born and this forced the important decision to stop acting in the productions. Happily, this also allowed Allen to continue with the education and out-reach work the company does, whilst the rest of the team were on the road.

Towards the end of 2005 Allen stepped down as Company Manager to concentrate on his new Stagecoach franchise and raising his family. He is still a valued member of the team and a great friend.
